A practical guide to Shulph Books Hub

How Shulph Books Hub works

Find and research books, organise a requirement with colleagues, export it for internal planning and request a reviewed quotation from Shulph.

Shulph Books Hub is for organisations sourcing books for their own use. It is not a wholesale or resale service.

Choose the simplest route

One title or a complete requirement

Both routes lead to a quotation reviewed by Shulph. Choose according to the work you need to do before requesting it.

Fastest for a bulk order of one book

Request a single-title quotation

  1. 1. Find and open the correct edition.
  2. 2. Select Request quotation.
  3. 3. Confirm the quantity and your organisation and delivery details.
  4. 4. Receive a formal quotation after Shulph reviews pricing and availability.
Find a title

Best for several books or shared planning

Build a resource list

  1. 1. Create and name a list.
  2. 2. Add titles and set their quantities.
  3. 3. Share, refine or export the requirement.
  4. 4. Submit the finished list for one reviewed quotation.
Start a resource list

Find and research the right edition

Titles often exist in several formats and editions. Check the ISBN and product details before adding a book to a list or requesting a quotation.

Search the catalogue
  • Search by ISBN, title, author or publisher.
  • Compare formats, publication dates, publishers and editions.
  • Check current stock, orderability and indicative dispatch information.
  • Copy an ISBN into a specification, spreadsheet or procurement record.
  • Ask Shulph for help with unlisted, out-of-stock, out-of-print or difficult-to-find titles.

Build and manage a resource list

A list is a working requirement. It can evolve as your team researches editions, agrees quantities and prepares for approval.

  1. 01

    Name the requirement

Create a list with a name your colleagues will recognise, such as “Year 7 English — Autumn 2026” or “Primary Library Refresh”.

  2. 02

    Add the exact editions

Search the catalogue, check the ISBN and format, set the quantity and add each chosen title to the active list.

  3. 03

    Keep working as you search

The active-list dock keeps the current requirement within reach while you move through search results and product pages.

  4. 04

    Review and refine

Open the list to change quantities, remove items, check availability and add more titles before submitting it.

  5. 05

    Manage future versions

From Lists, you can rename, duplicate or archive a requirement and switch which list is active.

Collaborate without passing spreadsheets around

Open a saved list and choose Share list. Create the kind of secure link that matches what your colleague needs to do.

View-only link

Use this for review or approval. Colleagues can see the current requirement but cannot change titles or quantities.

Editable link

Use this for active collaboration. Colleagues can add or remove products and update quantities.

Keep control of access. Share editable links only with people you trust to change the requirement. You can revoke either type of link; creating it again produces a different secure link.
  1. 1.Open the saved list
  2. 2.Select Share list
  3. 3.Create and copy the right link
  4. 4.Revoke access when it is no longer needed

Research and planning tools

Turn catalogue research into an agreed requirement

Use lists as a shared planning space before you are ready to ask for a price.

Curriculum and reading lists

Compare editions, assemble class sets, and let subject or year-group colleagues check the requirement before it is priced.

Library and collection development

Build separate lists by subject, age group, initiative or funding period, then keep immediate and future requirements distinct.

Budget and procurement preparation

Use RRP totals as a planning reference, export a draft for internal review, and adjust titles or quantities before requesting a quotation.

Planning note: RRP totals help you understand the scale of a draft requirement. They are not the final organisation price; confirmed prices are provided in the quotation.

Export a useful working copy

Open your saved list and choose an export format. Both exports keep the working requirement outside the Hub without changing the live list.

PDF export

Best for meetings, approval packs and sharing a readable snapshot of the requirement.

CSV export

Best for Excel, Google Sheets, budget work, procurement records and further analysis.

What the exports contain

The working data includes quantities, titles, authors, ISBN13, formats, publishers, RRP, availability and supply status. In the EA framework context, current framework pricing may also be included according to the active pricing policy.

  1. 1. Open the saved list.Check that its titles and quantities are current.
  2. 2. Choose Export PDF or Export CSV.The file downloads using the list name.
  3. 3. Return to the live list to edit.Export a fresh snapshot whenever the requirement changes.

From a finished requirement to a formal quotation

Pricing is reviewed rather than generated blindly. The final quotation makes the commercial and supply position clear before you proceed.

RRP is a reference

It helps with early planning but is not the confirmed organisation price.

Pricing is tailored to the order

The title, quantity, supplier terms, availability and delivery requirement are reviewed together. A discount is not guaranteed on every title.

The quotation is the commitment point

Requesting a quotation does not place an order. Review the confirmed unit prices, quantities, delivery charge and total before proceeding.

  1. 1

Your request is received by Shulph.

  2. 2

We review the titles, quantities, supplier pricing, availability and delivery requirement.

  3. 3

A formal quotation is issued to the requester by email.

  4. 4

The secure quotation page shows confirmed pricing, delivery and any unavailable or back-ordered titles.

  5. 5

Once the quotation is accepted, Shulph proceeds with the agreed supply arrangements.

Delivery is confirmed with the quotation

  • Standard UK delivery is calculated for the complete requirement and shown separately on the quotation.
  • Qualifying orders may receive free standard UK delivery. Any delivery charge will be confirmed as part of your quotation.
  • Remote areas, urgent services, multiple addresses, pallets and unusually heavy or oversized requirements may need a separately quoted delivery service.
  • Dispatch estimates depend on confirmed stock and begin after the quotation has been accepted and the order can proceed.

Common questions

Before you begin

Do I need an account?

No. You can search, create a list and begin a quotation request without signing in. Signing in is useful when you want your organisation’s lists to follow you between devices.

Can I request a quotation for only one title?

Yes. Select Request quotation on an orderable product, confirm the quantity in the form and provide the organisation and delivery details.

Is there a fixed minimum quantity?

There is no single quantity rule that suits every title. Enter the quantity you need and Shulph will review the complete requirement.

Does every title receive a discount?

No. The final price depends on the title, quantity, supplier terms, availability and delivery. Every price is confirmed in the formal quotation before you commit.

Can colleagues change my list?

Only if you create an editable link. A view-only link lets colleagues review the requirement without changing it. Either link can be revoked.

What if a title is unavailable?

Availability is reviewed before the quotation is issued. Shulph can identify back orders, record titles that cannot currently be quoted and help investigate alternatives or difficult-to-find editions.

Can I use Shulph Books Hub to buy for resale?

No. Shulph Books Hub is for organisations sourcing books for their own use, not for booksellers, resellers or purchases intended for resale.
